Dejournette received a first-round bye before defeating Navy's Nicholas Mabry by 9-0 decision. The redshirt junior then followed up with a 7-1 victory over Lehigh's Doug Vollaro in SV-1.

On day two, Dejournette earned a 2-0 decision win over SoCon rival No. 11 Jared Johnson of Chattanooga in the quarterfinal. In the semifinal, Dejournette topped No. 6 Michael Kroells of Minnesota by 6-3 decision. Dejournette's lone loss came in the final to No. 4 Austin Marsden of Oklahoma State.
