BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University wrestling hosts the Duke Blue Devils at Varsity Gym on Tuesday night. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.

The Mountaineers (3-2, 1-0 SoCon) look to snap a two-match skid to ACC schools after dropping a road contest to No. 18 UNC and a home bout versus No. 5 NC State. The No. 24 Blue Devils are the third-consecutive ranked opponent the Apps have faced.

LOOKING BACK: The Mountaineers were last in action at home against No. 5 ranked NC State. The Apps were tied, 14-14 with the Wolfpack with two matches left but dropped the final two and fell, 21-14. Vito Pasone, Jacob Grigg, Matt Zovistoski, and Nick Kee all earned victories in the match.

Denzel Dejournette had his 12-match winning streak snapped by No. 1 Nick Gwiazdowski.

DUKE: The Blue Devils last wrestled at the Wolfpack Open on Nov. 22. Duke placed seven wrestlers at the tournament with four grapplers placing in the top three. Duke features two wrestlers ranked in the top 25 on Intermat Wrestling in No. 16 Jake Faust at 165 pounds and No. 3 Conner Hartmann at 197 pounds.

The Blue Devils have not competed in a dual meet so far this season. Last year, Duke defeated Appalachian, 24-17, in Durham, N.C.
