Volleyball Foursome Earns NCCSIA Honors
BOONE, N.C. – Just one day after receiving AVCA all-region honorble mention, Appalachian State University volleyball had four student-athletes receive North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) honors on Wednesday.

2015 Sun Belt Conference Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year, Jess Keller, as well as Sun Belt first-team selections Emily Corrigan and Ashton Gregory and second-team selection Paige Brown were named to the NCCSIA first and second teams.

Keller and Brown were named to the first team, while Corrigan and Gregory earned second team honors. Keller, Brown and Corrigan were all named to the 2014 all-state team last season.

The Mountaineers finished the 2015 campaign with a 22-8 overall record, including a 13-3 mark in the Sun Belt while matching a program record 16-match win streak (Sept. 12-Nov. 6). During the year, Keller led the conference and team in both kills (507) and kills per set (4.57), while Corrigan finished behind her with 411 kills and 3.70 kills per set.

With Keller's breakout season, she propelled herself into 10th all-time on the program's career kills list with 1,210. Keller topped her career high for kills in a match, notching 26 in the Sun Belt championship match against Arkansas State. She previously had topped her career high earlier in the season on two occasions with 25 kills in wins over Liberty and Georgia State.

Brown enjoyed another ultra-impressive season as the main setter and heartbeat of the Mountaineer offense in 2015. Brown accumulated 1,335 assists to lead the Sun Belt and also averaged a gaudy 12.03 assists per set. With those numbers, Brown secured herself the top spot in program history for career assists with 4,478 career helpers. Brown was named Sun Belt Setter of the Week a total of seven times to lead the conference.

Corrigan vaulted into second all time with 1,399 career kills. Keller was named Sun Belt Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week once, while Corrigan earned the award twice during the season.

Gregory, a transfer middle blocker this season, turned in a stellar campaign for Appalachian State and was a huge force in everything the program accomplished this season. Gregory finished third on the squad with 312 kills and 3.15 kills per set. In addition to those numbers, Gregory finished second in the Sun Belt with a .354 hitting percentage, just one hundredth of a point behind the leader.
